Kannada video production in Bangalore
Kannada videos, promos and campaign creatives for live shows, cultural institutions and brands, made by The House of Edits in Bengaluru. Our Kannada work spans stand-up comedy, a music night, theatre and a Sandalwood sports league. We co-own Kannada Comedy Festival with DS Productions and were its creative producer through three seasons in two cities.
What we make
What we make for Kannada audiences
Kannada ad films and promos
Short films for a brand, a launch or a show, written for Kannada viewers from the first draft instead of being translated once an English script is locked.
Stand-up shows and comedy specials
Show identity, comic announcements, posters and multi-cam edits of the sets, the work we do as producer of Kannada Comedy Circuit.
Festival and show campaigns
Announcements, comic and artist reveals and sponsor creatives written in the language the audience laughs and sings in, followed by coverage and post-show content in the same voice.
Theatre and cultural films
Short films and photography of stage productions for theatres and cultural institutions, made for promotion, archives and print.
Sandalwood and celebrity-led events
Team presentation, match-day creatives and digital storytelling for events where film personalities and fans meet, as in our creative media support for a team at Appu Cup Season 02.
Music and nightlife promotion
Event branding, digital posters, artist presentation and glimpses for Kannada music nights aimed at a young crowd.
Kannada titling for posters and screens
Show titles, poster headlines and on-screen supers set in Kannada script and proofread at the size people will see them, on a phone or a hoarding.
Subtitles and bilingual versions
Kannada and English subtitles and on-screen text, so one edit can reach viewers who prefer either language.

Who is watching
We settle who the viewer is, where they live and how they talk. A line that works for a Bengaluru college crowd can land differently in Mysuru, Mangaluru or Dharwad.
Kannada first
Hooks, dialogue and on-screen lines are drafted in Kannada and approved by you before a camera is booked. English versions follow from the approved Kannada, not the other way round.
Talent and approvals
Comics, artists, presenters or team members are briefed early, and each person signs off the announcements and edits that carry their name.
Capture
On stage we work around blocking and lighting rather than interrupting the performance. For stand-up we run more than one camera so the punchline and the room's reaction are both on record.
Edit for timing
Comedy lives in the pause, theatre in its rhythm, so the cut follows the performer. Kannada titles and subtitles are set and checked by eye, not left to auto-captions.
Versions and release
The Kannada master goes out with subtitled, vertical and poster versions, timed to the show dates or campaign calendar agreed at the brief.
It has been great; the service is top notch and we have been regular clients since they started. The response is quick, can't ask for more.
Budget
What decides the cost of Kannada video work
- One language or twoA Kannada-only film is one edit. Separate Kannada and English versions with their own voice-over, supers or jokes are closer to two.
- Writing from scratch or adaptingAn original Kannada script takes more writing time than adapting an existing campaign, and regional variations of the same script add more.
- Known facesA Sandalwood personality, a touring comic or an RJ brings a following, and with it a fee and an approval round of their own.
- Live captureThe number of shows, days and camera positions decides crew size, and multi-cam stage work needs more edit time than a single angle.
- Kannada on screenSubtitles, supers and poster type in Kannada script are proofread and checked at phone size, and that time grows with every piece in the campaign.
- Music and footage rightsFilm songs, film clips and recorded stage performances may need permission from their owners before they appear in a promo.
Questions
Before you ask
Can you make a Kannada ad film for our brand?
Yes. It follows the same stages as our ad film work, with the script, hooks and supers written for Kannada viewers from the start rather than translated. Our Kannada portfolio so far comes from live comedy, music, theatre and a Sandalwood sports league, and those promos and short films are the closest guide to the tone we write in.
Should we make the video in Kannada with subtitles, or separate Kannada and English versions?
It depends on where it will run and what carries the message. A Kannada master with English subtitles often works well on social platforms. When the idea rests on wordplay or a joke, a separate English edit usually serves better than a literal subtitle, and we plan for it at the brief so the shoot covers both.
Do you work with Kannada comedians and content creators?
With comics, yes. Through Kannada Comedy Festival and Kannada Comedy Circuit we have made shows and creatives with comics including Dilip Shankar, Vadiraj Babladi, Karthik Pattar and Raghvendra Acharya. When a campaign is fronted by a Kannada comic or creator, we build it around how they actually perform instead of handing them a translated script.
Do you produce Kannada shows yourselves?
Some of them. We co-own Kannada Comedy Festival with DS Productions and co-produced its third season with VR Productions, and we produce Kannada Comedy Circuit. Kannada DJ Night was different: it was produced by Kalaluha, our sister company, with us as creative partner on the branding, posters and glimpses. If you already have a producer, we come in for promotion, coverage and edits.
Can you film a play or cultural performance without disrupting it?
Yes. Our short films for Rangayana Mysuru's Parva came from a live stage production, which takes timing, patience and close attention to movement, lighting and stage blocking. The edit then follows the rhythm of the performance rather than cutting against it.

- Events and concertsConcert and event economics, from first budget to final settlementConcert economics rests on two tests: tickets and sponsorship, net of what they cost to earn, must cover a budget built on cautious sales, and cash must arrive before the bills fall due. The sequence: fund the show, cost every head, price against break even, sell sponsorship as deliverables, protect cash, then settle every account in writing.
- Events and concertsThe complete guide to event films and concert mediaEvent media covers everything a live show needs on camera: promos before it, photography and video on the night, glimpses within hours, a highlight film afterwards, and footage that sells the next edition. It works when the look and feel of the night is decided first and every brief, crew position and deadline follows from that.
- Social mediaHow brands earn attention on social media and keep itBrands earn attention on social media by giving people a reason to stay in the first seconds, a format worth replying to or saving, and a look and voice they recognise. They keep it by answering comments, posting on a rhythm they can sustain and judging progress by how people respond, not by reach alone.
