Uniq Builders

A Mysuru builder's website, drafted like a drawing set

Uniq Builders is a Mysuru construction company that runs architecture, structure, interiors and construction under one team, and its website says exactly that in plain words, with starting rates shown up front and a call, WhatsApp message or booking one tap away. We built it as a static Astro site with an ivory and ember drawing-sheet look, the client's own illustrated services map as the hero, and 480 guides behind it.

The brief

What Uniq Builders needed

Uniq Builders had an old template WordPress site that no longer reflected the business. They sent a ten-point change list that included a new tagline with their years of experience, a four-item menu, a construction-themed look with fewer colours, services grouped into Architectural Design, Interiors and Construction, appointment booking on every page, a highlighted client band, packages with starting prices, a working contact page, and a blog and FAQ that also spoke to corporate and institutional clients. In priority order, the site had to bring in calls, WhatsApp messages and site-visit bookings, build credibility quickly, and rank for local construction searches in Mysuru, with most visitors arriving on a phone.

The ideology

A builder's website should read like a well-kept drawing set: clear lines, true figures, and a real person one tap away.

  • Only what is true

The headline figures come from the client: 17 years, 200+ projects, six cities. Starting rates carry their terms on the card, and imagery that is not the firm's own work is captioned as illustrative.

  • Drafted, not glossy

The look comes from the firm's own working material: a graph-grid sheet, ink-weight hairlines, ivory paper, espresso type and a single ember accent, set in one typeface.

  • One tap to a person

Call, WhatsApp and booking sit on every page, with a fixed call and WhatsApp bar on phones, because the people planning a house are researching on their phones.

  • Built to be found locally

Eight topic hubs, seven named for local searches such as Architects in Mysuru and Home Construction in Mysuru and one on the firm itself, hold the guides, each linking back to the relevant service and to related guides.

Project to delivery

How it came together

  1. Discovery

We answered the client's ten-point change list in a page-by-page content brief dated 29 July 2026: the four-item menu, three service groups holding seven services, the packages, booking on every page, and a blog and FAQ that covers corporate and institutional interiors.

  2. Direction

The build brief locked the facts (17 years, 200+ projects, six cities, nothing invented) and set the visual language from the firm's own working material: drawing sheets, blueprint linework and a title-block device that carries real information.

  3. Design and build

From 6 August 2026 we scaffolded the Astro site, design tokens and layouts, tried a darker blueprint direction, then settled on Gallery Light: ivory paper, espresso ink and an ember accent. After two type trials, Neulis Sans became the only typeface on 18 August.

  4. Client rounds

On review the client supplied their illustrated services map, which became the full-width hero shown whole, plus a new headline and a fourth package, Villa. We added the Namaskara preloader, a grounded chat assistant, a WhatsApp button and an orange client wall with every logo processed into one white monochrome.

  5. Launch

We packaged the site for Hostinger as one folder per page with trailing-slash URLs, so every page loads even if hidden server files go missing in upload, and connected uniqbuilders.com.

  6. Growth

From 18 August 2026 we grew eight topic hubs to 480 guides, all written against a single facts sheet, and in September added People pages for the team and the new Bengaluru office across contact, footer, structured data and chat.

Under the hood

Development and technology

  • Astro 7Static site generator: every page ships as plain HTML, with scripts only for motion, chat and booking, which suits a content-heavy site read mostly on phones.
  • Astro content collectionsServices, packages, FAQs and 480 Markdown guides live as files, so copy and prices stay consistent across cards, pages and the chat assistant.
  • Astro image pipelineGenerates WebP versions of each image at fixed widths at build time, so phones download small files.
  • Tailwind CSS 4Styling built on shared colour, type and spacing tokens.
  • GSAP with ScrollTriggerQuiet scroll reveals: masked headline lines, hairlines that draw in, figures whose digits roll into place, and subtly magnetic buttons on desktop.
  • LenisSmooth scrolling kept in sync with the scroll animations.
  • @astrojs/sitemapBuilds the sitemap index that lists all 512 URLs for search engines.
  • JSON-LD structured dataLocalBusiness and GeneralContractor with both offices, plus Article, BreadcrumbList, Person and FAQPage markup so search engines read the business and guides correctly.
  • Self-hosted Neulis Sans (WOFF2)One preloaded font file for the whole site, keeping type consistent and loading fast.
  • Hostinger (hcdn)Hosting and CDN for the static build, prepared by a custom packaging script.
  • WhatsApp and prefilled email linksBookings and enquiries reach the team without a server: buttons open WhatsApp or a ready-written email with the project details filled in.

Details worth a visit

Open uniqbuilders.com
  • The client's own map as the hero

Their illustrated services map, with residential, commercial, institutional and industrial buildings around a Mysuru arch and approvals, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and waterproofing called out, runs full width and is never cropped.

  • Namaskara, then Welcome

A short preloader greets visitors in Kannada, then English, while the logo reveals on a graph-grid sheet. It plays once per visit and is skipped entirely for anyone who prefers reduced motion.

  • Packages read at a glance

Four package cards with orange header bands, a starting rate per square foot or, for Villa, custom pricing, terms stated on the card itself, and a licensing-assistance perk shown on every tier.

  • A chat that only says what the site says

The assistant answers from the site's own packages, services and FAQs, runs in the browser, offers quick-reply chips and hands off to call, WhatsApp or email for anything else.

  • 480 guides in eight hubs

Sixty guides per topic, from architects and interiors to home construction in Mysuru, each with an author, breadcrumb trail, FAQs and links to related guides and services.

  • One-colour client wall

Mixed client logos are processed into a single white monochrome and run as one marquee line on a deep orange band, so the strip reads as one designed piece.
